Guidelines for Submission of Articles
The IJPMR publishes original contributions concerning basic clinical and experimental aspects of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The contributions may be in the form of research articles, short reports, case reports, letters to editors, preliminary communications and technical notes. Editorials, review articles, orations, book reviews, historical articles are welcome with prior information to/invitation from the Editor. The article submitted should neither have been published previously (except proceedings of a conference, congress or seminar), nor they should have been submitted for publication elsewhere simultaneously.
The following guidelines should be adhered to in preparing the manuscript.
Hard Copy: The Manuscript should be neatly typewritten in English on a A4 size (210 x 297 mm) paper with double spacing throughout (including Tables & legends) and 5 cm. margin. Three print outs (on Laser or Inkjet Printer) of the article should be submitted with illustrations (also in triplicate). Do not send ordinary type and dot matrix prints.
Soft copy of the article in Microsoft word document format on a floppy disc (3.5") or a CD in addition is a must. In place of floppy disc or CD email attachment of the papers is also entertained. Please attach MS-Word Document files to email and address to editor@ijpmr.com or usingh@aiims.ac.in
Contents' Format: The title of the article, the running title (less than 30 characters), Institutional address, name of the authors, their qualifications, designations, and addresses should be typed on a separate cover page. Details of the author for communication/correspondence should be given with complete address with telephone, fax numbers and email address should be given on cover page itself.
The first page of manuscript proper should have the title only. Mention of any of the authors' names or the institution should be avoided in the manuscript except on the cover page.
Abstract (not more than 200 words) should be typed on a separate page followed by keywords (Not more than ten). The key words should preferably be those used in Index Medicus as Medical Subject Headings.
The article should include a brief introduction, material and methods, observations, results, discussion, conclusions, acknowledgements (if any) and refrences. Any deviation from this sequence must be explained in the covering letter.
Tables should not contain more than 6 columns. Metric system should be used throughout. These should be typed on separate page and should be numbered and referred to (where they should be placed), in the text. These should be suitably captioned. Any table(s) that is not found to be enhancing the understanding of the article, in the opinion of the editorial board, is liable to be omitted.
Illustrations should be separate from the text (not inserted in the text if digitized version is used) and should be suitably labeled on their back with soft pencil regarding name of the authors, title of the article, figure and arrow pointing towards the right upper angle. Kindly indicate the place in the article where the illustration is to be inserted. Photographs should be printed on glossy paper. Radiographs should be submitted as reduced prints, the original film may be required for better reproduction and cost will have to borne by the contributors. Magnification data should invariably accompany the photomicrographs. Alternatively digital photographs of the figures may also be sent on a CD preferably in TIFF format or as BMP image. JPEG format file size of unreduced photograph should not be less than 3 megapixels.
Legends to figures, illustrations and photographs etc. should be neatly typewritten on a separate sheet.
References should be referred to in superscripted Arabic numerals in the sequence of their appearance in the text in Vancouver Style, e.g., reference one and four is to be quoted in the text of the manuscript as superscript1, 4 References should neatly and correctly typewritten in double space on a separate sheet. Responsibility of accuracy of information given in references/bibliography rests with the contributors. Any errors on this account may render the article liable for rejection. References should be from authentic sources, e.g., journals, books, monographs etc. Online references should be restricted to web-sites of reputed scientific/medical institutions, associations, journals, libraries or universities. Thesis or dissertation should not be quoted unless published.

Copyrighted Material: Responsibility of obtaining due permission for any copyright material included in the article rests with the authors. In the case of any lapse, the entire legal responsibility would be borne by the contributors themselves.
Right of alterations in the article: The editorial board reserves the right to make any number of alterations and corrections, if required.
Ownership and copyright of the article will stand transferred to IJPMR on the acceptance of article for publication and the same is not allowed to be published in any other journal in the same form in whole or in part without the written permission from the Editor.
Undertaking: All authors should sign the following undertaking (in the same order their names appear in the list of authors):
I/We certify that the article titled [Title of the article] is my/our original work and I/We have not sent it for publication elsewhere nor it has been accepted for publication any where else. I/We hereby transfer the copyright of the article to the Indian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The undertaking must accompany the manuscript, otherwise the manuscript will not be processed further. Alternatively, an email from all the individual authors should be sent to the editor stating the above and accepting the order of authorship of the article.
Reprints: Five copies of reprints will be provided to the first/corresponding author, free of cost. Extra reprints can be obtained against advance payment and order @ Rupees 15/- per reprint. The rate may vary depending on the size of the article. The decision of the editor would be final in fixing the rate of reprints. Request for extra reprints should be made to the editor well in advance, preferably at the time of submission of the article but not later than ten days after date of the letter of acceptance of the article.
